COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AND PROCEDURES

           Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. 

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: 

  • We will be scheduling appointments with ample time between patients to allow for necessary social distancing and disinfecting protocols. Our goal is to have no more than one patient in the office at a time.  

  • While extra care is being taken to prevent the spread of disease, we also kindly request that ONLY the patient being seen come for the appointment. If multiple members of your household are scheduled for appointments on the same day, we will allow only the scheduled patient back into the operatory at a time. The other members of the household will respectfully be asked to remain in the waiting area, wearing masks. However, anyone whom is not scheduled for an appointment will not be allowed into the building unless they are a responsible party for the patient, in which case they will also be required to wear a mask.  

  • We politely ask that all patients remain in their vehicle and call our office upon arrival. We will come to your vehicle to take your temperature, and provide you with a screening questionnaire. 

  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.  

  • If you’ve tested positive for COVID-19, unfortunately, we will not be able to see you until 14 days after the date that you tested positive. We also ask that any patients whose temperature is over 100.4F, on the day of their appointment, reschedule. 

  • Lastly, we will not be using the ultrasonic scaler for any cleaning appointments in order to prevent aerosolization of COVID-19.
